What are the evaluation criteria for Extended Essay?
Extended Essay gives students the opportunity to conduct an experiment or research on a topic that interests them. The student is limited only by his imagination (and four thousand words). Wanting to get the most points, however, it is necessary to be well aware of the Extended Essay grading criteria.
Points are awarded in five categories:
A: Focus and Method (6 marks)
B: Knowledge and Understanding (6 marks)
C: Critical Thinking (12 marks)
D: Presentation (4 marks)
E: Engagement (6 marks)
During the class, we will look at your work in terms of each of the criteria.
We’ll share tips on what you can improve or develop to take better care of each essential element of your Extended Essay and get the desired amount of points.
